09-10-2014 Queensbury Cemetery Commission Minutes of the September September 10,2014—9 a.m. PRESENT: ' Superintendent:Connie Goedert Commissioners: Jennifer Switzer Donna Partridge ABSENT: Commissioners:Brian Dreitlein The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. Executive Session:None required Regular Session: Employee Information:No items to discuss. Staff Meeting: Was held recently to discuss department expectations including issues concerning accountability. Crematory Maintenance Report:No items to discuss. Equipment Maintenance:The lawn mower (60" rear discharger—walker)will cost approximately $16,000. The bid will be released next month. Outside Clean-Up:Tree removal bids were received ranging from$12,000 to$18,000. Low bid received was from Dick Sears for the large trees close to graves. The Town is reviewing the$12,000 contract which will allow the safe removal of trees that are dead and/or hollow and a safety and hazard. All board members present approved the contract and removal Miscellaneous—Connie Goedert updated the Commission on the following items: o One way traffic—the commission discussed dosing 2-way traffic corning into the cemetery and creating one-way traffic to insure the safety of those traveling on the narrow roadways. o Litigation regarding ownership and burial rights on the Mellon lot has closed. o Connie visited the Sisson residence with Supervisor Strough and Councilman Irish recently at the request of Mr.Irish to determine if the residence was a burial site and determine what if any assistance the Town could offer to the owners of the private property. • Core Scientific a company accepts metals from crematories and recycles them into precious metals. Connie will investigate this process and report back to the Commission. 9 The dump truck damaged by the clearing of trees will be replaced by insurance and some funds available in the vehicle reserve. The estimated cost of replacement is$40,000. o Review of the financials—including lot sales With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:55 am.
