Minutes of the
October
October 8,2014—9 a.m.
PRESENT:

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m.
Executive Session:Performance of a staff member was discussed. No action was taken by the
Commission.
Regular Session:
Employee Information:Adam,the last of the summer help,will have his last day on October 31,2014.
Pete Higgins a full-time long tenured employee of the Town and currently Cemetery employee has
announced his retirement effective the end of November. Connie will begin the process of looking for a
full-time laborer to replace Pete.
Crematory Maintenance Report: No items to discuss.
Equipment Maintenance:The lawn mower is expected to arrive soon. The dump truck is scheduled to
arrive before or around the Christmas holiday.
Outside Clean-Up: Nothing to report.
Miscellaneous—Connie Goedert updated the Commission on the following items:
o One way traffic—Connie reported that after contacting the Town and County the closest exit to
the office will have to be the exit due to the proximity to the intersection of Quaker Road and
Glen Street. Discussion was held regarding signage and alerting the public to the change.
O Recently the roadways in the Cemetery have been used by young drivers as"speed"ways. The
sheriff has been notified and has agreed to increase patrols at night.
o Connie visited the Sisson residence with Supervisor Strough and Councilman Irish recently at the
request of Mr.Irish to determine if the residence was a burial site and determine what if any
assistance the Town could offer to the owners of the private property.
Q Connie discussed recent inquiries received regarding the conversion of metals as discussed at
last months meeting. After receiving and reviewing information she has obtained it appears this
work will require a bid before engaging an outside contractor for the work.
O Notable are the number of cremations this year. There have been approximately 40 more than
there was at this time last year.
e Review of the financials—including lot sales
