04-07-1993 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
April 7, 1993
9: 00am
Present : Dougher, Prime and Supt . Mosher
Because of a record 51 cremations in March, it was necessary to
use both of the retorts . The old retort must be renovated soon.
Money for this should be included in the next budget . The cost
will be between $7000 and $8000.
The insurance check for the West Glens Falls fence has arrived and
been credited for the repair.
Our vault is full at this time .
The Cemetery Commission has authorized the repurchase of Lot 14-A
in the Mohigan section belonging to Nora Sowray and requests the
Town Board to issue the check in the amount of $400 which is the
original price of the lot minus the Perpetual Care . Rodney will •
obtain the proper signed voucher as is usual in these repurchases .
Regan and Denny did a Washington County burial in Pine View and
had, basically, wanted to do it on credit . This was not allowed as
it is contrary to the law.
Rodney has received notice that Mike Brandt has created "an
advisory committee" to look into the operations of the various
departments and suggest ways of using our taxes as efficiently as
possible . Since this is one of the very busiest times of the year
for the work of the town cemeteries, the Commission will meet with
the group. It will give us a chance to explain the workings of the
Cemetery Commission as well .
There was an Environmental Control tank pumping out inground
stoage tanks in the Northway Plaza . These have been a concern for
years .
