01-05-1994 The first meeting of the Pine View Commission for 1994 was held on January 5, 1994 at the Pine View Cemetery office at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairman - Sylvia Dougher Treasurer - Bob Edwards Past Secretary - Peggie Prime New Secretary - Joe Fiore Superintendent - Rod Mosher Councilman - George Wiswall Mr. Mosher announced that there were 468 cremations for 1993. Mr. Mosher reported that the furnace at the office has been acting up. He has had to go to the office after hours to make sure it was working. When it was not, he had to call Ken Celeste Plumbing and Heating Co. to come and restart it. Ken Celeste gave Rod a quote of $1940 to install a new gas furnace. After discussion, the Commissioners approved the installation. Niagara Mohawk will run a gas line from Quaker Road to the office building free of charge. Three bids (Industrial Engineers-$2940, All Engineers-$2900 and Crawford-$2633) have been received on the needed processor for cremation remains which was included in the 1994 budget. Rod had requested references from the three companies but only Industrial Engineers complied. The Crawford machine was not of the right type, grinding in a less efficient manner. The processor from Industrial Engineers will be recommended for purchase to the Queensbury Town Board at a negotiated cost of $2700. The monthly meeting of the Commission will be held the first Wednesday of every month starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Pine View Cemetery office as in the past. Discussion followed on all the other cemeteries in Queensbury. There is a small problem with the Austin Cemetery and Mr. Mosher is working on this and will report at the February meeting. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:25 a.m..
