09-07-1994 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
Sept. 7, 1994
9:00am
Present: Dougher, Edwards, Prime, Supt. Mosher and Town Board member, George
Wiswall.
Rodney has met with Fred Champagne on the Cemetery and Crematory budget for
1995. As presented, the total is $1000 less than last year. Rod will let the commission
know when the meeting with the Town Board will take place.
Niagara Mohawk has still not hooked us up to the natural gas promised last January.
George Wiswall has tried to contact some higher-up at the company but as of this
meeting has been unsucessful.
The new tractor is in use and most satisfactory.
Mike Lopez is still out because of an infection in his back following surgery. It does not
look like he will be back any time soon. Wayne Merritt is staying on until the end of
September and will, perhaps, be needed beyond that time.
George Wiswall took Jim Hunt, the tree man with the County contract, around to all the
cemeteries as he had taken Dick Sears. He seems to be substantially less expensive
using his County bid prices. Work in the Austin, Mt. Hermon and Jenkins Cemeteries
as outlined at the meeting seems to total $1052. The Commissioners authorized Mr.
Mosher to proceed if, after receiving a written bid from Mr. Hunt and reviewing our
budget position at this time, he feels we can get this work done this Fall.
The Cemetery Commission plans to have a new rule baning pinwheels and inflatables
in place to be enforced by the first of January 1995. The pinwheels become brittle and
break into sharp pieces; the inflatables deflate and become unsightly. We have had
many complaints over the years. Rod will have the wording of the new rule for our
consideration at the next meeting.
