Present: Dougher, Edwards, Prime, Wiswall and Supt. Mosher
Niagara Mohawk is in the process of hooking up the gas to the building. This should
result in savings this winter.
Mike Lopez is still out and his return is uncertain. Wayne Merritt will stay on for the time
being.
Jim Hunt has decided that he will not remove the trees discussed last month for the
County contract price. The Commission feels this should be reported to both the Town
Board and to the County. Mr. Hunt was low bidder for that contract but does not want to
perform at the prices agreed to in the contract because our trees are not all on roads.
George Wiswall will recontact Hunt to get a firm price in writing.
Fred Champage has gotten some calls concerning our hours of operation and,
perhaps, other matters. He feels that a meeting with the funeral directors should be
held. The Commission meets on the first Wednesday of every month and is always
willing to discuss any problems with any person. The best way for a member of the
Town Board to respond to any type of complaint or suggestion is to turn it over to the
Cemetery Commission to handle, or, if that doesn't seem adequate, arrange to come
with the person to a Cemetery meeting. The head of the Commission, Mrs. Dougher,
also responds by letter or phone to any question or complaint.
The Cemetery budget will be discussed by the entire Town Board on Oct. 12, 1994 at
5:30pm. Margaret Prime will represent the Commission at that review.
On motion by Sylvia Dougher, seconded by Bob Edwards, the following Resolution with
Public Notice was adopted and will be placed in the newspapers of record.
TO ALL OWNERS OF LOTS IN PINE VIEW CEMETERY AND THOSE OUTSIDE
CEMETERIES MAINTAINED BY THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY:
As of October 5th, 1994, no decorative inflated items or pinwheels will be
allowed on any lots in the above mentioned cemeteries.
