11-04-1998 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION November 4, 1998, 9 a.m. PRESENT: • :Superintendent: Rodney Mosher, Superintendent Commissioners: George Wiswall,Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins Town Supervisor: Fred Champagne There were 53 cremations in October. Regarding Northway Plaza, Fred Champagne advised us that a$15,000 bid was offered. It was agreed that he would ask for$20,000. Fall clean-up is underway and should be completed by this weekend. Rod reported that the parcel of land that Keith Harris acquired at Seeley Cemetery that he wants to convey to the Cemetery Commission is non-redeemable once it is auctioned off for non- payment of taxes. Dr. William H.and Marguarite Cantwell are selling back a four-grave lot. Their initial cost was $1400 and they will receive $933. A resolution has been drawn by the Town Board. Fred brought to our attention a pine tree at Quaker Cemetery that needs attention. Rod is looking into ways to preserve the pine tree. The Commission agreed not to have the maple tree in Austin Cemetery fertilized. Rod talked to Henry Hess, Comptroller, and a new car will be purchased for the cemetery.
