06-02-1999 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION June 2, 1999 - 9 a.m. PRESENT: Superintendent: Rodney Mosher Commissioners: George Wiswall, Terry Higgins Councilman: Ted Turner There were 48 cremations in May. All bodies have been removed from the Vault. • Foundations were in by Memorial Day and the cemeteries were cleaned and mowed. On Tuesday, May 18, a group of students and teachers from BOCES came to the crematory for a tour and informational meeting. They were impressed with the operation and wish to return for a tour of Pine View Cemetery. Marilyn VanDyke and Rod met with Bill George of the Berkshire Corp. The aluminum fence should be installed this week at Quaker Cemetery. Resolutions were passed by the Town Board to hire Josh Lopez and Chris Sennett for the summer positions. Money has been set aside to pay their salaries which have been increased from $8.50 per hour to $9.88 per hour. A plot owner at Pine View wished to have a marker placed above ground. Rodney pointed out Article 14 of the Rules and Regulations "All markers that are to be used with existing or planned monuments must be placed flush with the ground. If the marker is being used in place of a monument, then it can be above ground." RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Cemetery Commission hereby instructs Rodney Mosher, Superintendent, to enforce the Rules and Regulations. Theresa Higgins, Secretary, introduced this motion and it was seconded by Dr. George Wiswall, President.
