There were 58 cremations in July.
Brian Lee, who is erecting Mr. Mastrantoni's mausoleum planned to put curbings around the
structure. Rodney informed him that this was against the Rules and Regulations. 'He also had to
removed footings for benches that would have been on Pine View property and subject to
damage by the snow plow. Mr. Mastrantoni had declined to sign a waiver releasing Pine View
from possible damage.
Seeley Cemetery- Rodney received a complaint from Norma Stark regarding the neglect of
permanent maintenance in the area that Brian Lee is responsible for. State law requires the
collection of permanent maintenance and also requires that the properties are maintained.
Harrisena Church- The Women's Association will have the fence around the cemetery
refurbished and two large bushes will be removed.
The Sheriff's Department was called to remove a man who was drinking in Pine View
Cemetery and bothering a woman. The Sheriff's Department took him away without incident.
There was a brief discussion about amending the Rules and Regulations due to a problem with
some property at Huron. Regan&Denny chose a lot and advised Jean Mouler whose mother,
Adrianna Vanderlann, is buried there that she could place a monument and face it however she
wished. When she found out she could not do this the Town Attorney had to become involved.
Rod suggested a solution that was satisfactory to Mrs. Moulder. As a result of this, to Item #14
of the Rules &Regulations will be added the words "....all monuments must be in line with other
monuments." Either the persons involved or the funeral director bear the responsibility for
choosing a lot.
The fence at Quaker Cemetery has still not been installed. Rodney will place a call to Marilyn
VanDyke. Some of the property will not be fenced but it will be documented where there are
burials outside the fenced area.
On Thursday, August 5th, two men, William Stiles and Lonee Dowen, will be disinterred and
transferred the the Veteran's Cemetery in Saratoga. Rod suggested that the families discuss
whether to keep the property or sell it back to the cemetery.

The summer help is very satisfactory. They have been mowingand trimming out old brush.
There remains one fellow from Voluntary Action who will be leaving this week.
A young man came to Pine View looking for the grave of an infant sister who died in'February
of 1965. Singleton handled the remains and their records show she was supposed to be sent to
Pine View. Rod could find no record of the child's interment and after extensive checking all
the evidence he could not find any records that the child was ever brought to Pine View. Rod is
going to have the upper area of the Vault opened to see if she is there. •
A May 12, 1993 Resolution 295-3 authorized that a check for$400 be sent to Mrs. Nora Mary
Sowray for Lotl4A in Mohican when she sold back her property which she purchased for$600.
Mrs. Sowray has since passed away and her daughter, Mrs. Richard Meincke, could find no
record that her mother ever received the check and Rod could find no record that the check was
ever issued. The Commission will request a new Resolution to authorize that a new check be
sent to Mrs. Meincke.
The sale of property at Pine View to Northway Plaza is still pending. A letter will be sent to
Henry Hess, Town Comptroller, requesting that the money from this sale be placed in a Capital
Improvement Fund for the Cemetery.
