Thank you Ed Waters October 25, 1966 j ATTENTION: -- QUEENSBURY TOWN BOARD Gentlemen: In the interest of Town Health and Safety, we strongly . request that the Town Board of Queensbury consider the problem of the burning of leaves which has become ex tensive during this past week. We cite the- following hazards that result from this practice: 1. Pollution of the air which causes many people with upper respiratoryLl disorders undue suffering 2. Traffic hazards- due to the thick smoke 3. Danger of fire - Since the burning is so common and widespread, we think . it the responsibility of the- Town to find a substitute —' method for its occupants to dispose of their leaves. j We strongly recommend that the Town Board enact legislation to provide for the pickupeof leaves during the month of October in the interest of public health and safety.
