Mrs. Florence McIlvaine, reporter for the Post Star visited the meeting at this time. _ The clerk summarized the original application as presented., Supervisor Webster-requested a.voice from any-pe-Fsons in opposition or in" favor ..of the granting of -the-permit. A request was voiced by the petitionrers that. the.. public hearing - be held before Labor Day. If this is not possible a further • request was made that the hearing be held. on. There ' tie''abozit 6 cars^in various states of conditions considerable lliaik"--scattered over the yard, a station wagon where .same people have teen sleeping recently, a tent, and a cabin of some sort. While I. did not smell any odor nor has there been any noticed by npi fibers 'there is not visible- outdoor privy. It may be that there erg reasonably good facilities in the-cabin,, but if not, then there is the definite hazard of"disease. This, in addition to the attraction of insects and mice which this type litter always Has. 496 I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Vandenberg.
