Dear Mr, Crannell:
We are in receipt of the Resolution, by the Town Board of the
Town of Queensbury, requesting improvement of Route 9 from
Glens Falls northerly. " °
The need for improving local traffic service between Glens Falls
and Lake George is recognized by our Department.
The heavy design and construction program that this Department
is committed to, has been" delaying`manq such werthy projects
throughout various sections of the State.
As you know our Planning Department is currently preparing a
transportation report for the City of Glens Falls and its en-
virons. It is anticipated that this report will be completed
late in 1966. In the interest of good planning it is important
that the entire network of highways, both new and improved, in
the Glens Falls area be properly integrated before expending
large sums on any individual project. When this report has been
completed further consideration will be given to placing this
project on the active design program.
I appreciate the interest and concern expressed by the Queens-
bury Town Board and assure you that solutions for the problems
expressed in your Resolution will be studied as soon as our
program permits it.

RESOLUTION NO. 282, Introduced by Mr-. Turner, seconded by Mr. Beaty
RESOLVED that, the State Traffic Commission , pursuant to Section 1622.2
of the Vehicle and- Traffic Law is hereby requested to establish an
area speed restriction within the Cottage Hill area. The boundaries of
which are described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the southerly right-of-
way line of Aviation Road with the easterly right-of-way line of
Cottage Hill- Road; thence southerly along the easterly right-of-way line
of Cottage Hill Road to its intersection with the northerly right-of-way
line of Dixon Road; thence westerly along the northerly right-of-way
lire of Dixon Road to its intersection with the westerly right-of-way
line of Prospect Drive; thence northerly along the westerly right-of-way
line of Prospect Drive to its intersection with the southerly right-of-
way line, of Hillcrest Avenue; thence westerly, northerly and easterly
along the southerly, westerly and northerly right-of-way line of
Hillcrest Avenue to the intersection of the northerly right-of-way line
of Hillcrest Avenue with the westerly right-of-way line of Prospect Drive;
thence northerly along the westerly right-of-way Une of Prospect Drive
to its intersection with the southerly right-of-way line of 4viation
Road; thence easterly along the southerly right-of-way line of Aviation
Road to the point of beginning.
Duly adopted by the following vote:
Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster
Noes - None
A letter was received and placed on file from Finch Pruyn Sales, Inc. ,
to do with a complaint which maybe covered by the insurance carried by
the Town of Queensbury. The Taint involved the plugging of
appliances within a newly constructed home in the, Queensbury, Water
District.
Mr. 'LeRoy Beckerle, President of the Queensbury School Board was
greeted by the Supervisor at this time„
Mr. Beckerle suggested a "Community Christmas Tree Burning" at the
site of the Queensbury High. School,, he also mentioned the fact that a
community gathering could be arranged with the possibility of conducting
a dance for atathe Queensbury High School.
The. report of New Construction was received and placed on file, there
were fourteen reports filed in the month of November, 1965.
POLICE DEPARTMENT

REPORT TO THE TOWN BOARD
Gentlemen:
The following is a brief summery of the Police Department for
the year ending Dec. 15, 1965.
. More than 60 complaints were answered and investigated. 38 of
which were littering. others were, junk yards, Dogs howling, Dogs
destroying property.lS'peading, Abanded automobiles, Accidents, Disputes
over property lines,, Ge-Carts racing in the street, and most recently
vandalism, mostly at new construction, and braking light bulbs in
Christmas decorations. About 11:00 P.M. on Dec. 7 I was called to the
Northway Plaza whare I fouitd the burglar alarm at Mack$ drug store was

ringing. No burgular just a loud bell that some how became stuck.
This represents an average of more than one call. and one
investigation per week or more than 75%. over 1964. Not counting
cival papers served or the various civic functions attended.
Five arrest were made resulting: in four convections.
The Department collecter about 150. dollars in fees and traveled
- about three thousand miles.
May I take this oppertunity to thank the members of this_
Board for the splended cooperation you have afforded me. And my
- thanks to the other Town officials who have been most helpful-.
I wish to recomend the reappoint of Lowell Hill as
Po-liceman and Raymond Hoague as Special Policeman and the appoint
-ment of George LeBlance of Cleverdale as Special Policeman,
Gentlemen; I am -sure you are all aware of MY interest in
Town government, And My desire to be of- service to the Town,
To the Town Government, And to the town officials, of which I am
most proud.

Councilman Beaty reported on the recent meeting with the group
arrangeing the Comprehensive Study for the BEnd of the River
Sewer project. The resolution has been adopted, and, the study is
underway under the plan arranged under aid from the State of
New York.
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE SALARY CHANGE
RESOLUTION NO. 283, Introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by
Mr. Robertson.
WHEREAS, Resolution # 19, dated January 1, 1965, fixed the salary. .
of Curtis Lampson, Councilman, at $1,800.00 annually, and
WHEREAS, although the salary for this position has already been
established and fixed by Resolution # 19, Mr. Lampoon has requested
that he be paid a lesser salary of $1,725.00 for the year 1965,
and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed. to
pay Curtis Lampoon, Councilman a total salary of $1,725.00 for the
year 1965.
Duly adopted by the following vote:
Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and
Mr. Webster.
Noes - None
Supervisor Webster discussed the recent request of Mr. James Dempsey
to have minutes of Town Board Meetings be mailed to the Chairman
of the Queensbury Democratic Party. Following an opinion of
Attorney Albert E. Beswick the decision was reached that the request
would not be granted. —
RESOLUTION NO. 284, Introduced by Mr. Robertson,, seconded by
Mr. Lampsop.
RESOLVED that, the Audit of Claims as listed in Abstract #65-12B
numbered #1271 and totaling $2,491.00 is hereby approved.
