1963-06-03 SP 437 Mr. Joseph A. Kestner, Jr. , engineer for Queensbury Water District and Mr. Bernard Codner the Superintendent of Highways visited the Meeting at this time. A general discussion on the proposed Contract with Mr. Kestner was aired at this time. All points of the contract were studied. All points of the contract were studied. A revision of the contract to a Per Diem basis on payments for work accomplished was agreed upon with the engineer. The understanding was reached that the same maximum costs of operations would still apply. The contract will be drawn up and signed by members of the Town Board at a later date. Same will then be submitted to Housing and Home Finance Company for approval. Following the results of the recent disastrous fire in the City of Glens- Falls;, the suggestion was made to the engineer that all possible effort should be made to establish inter- connections with City Water mains at several points within the Town of Queensbury. This plan would be carried out on a mutual cost basis. Mr. Codner, discussed the progress of the efforts of the Highway Department at present. Several problems were aired to the board at this time. Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman Curtis Lampson Councilman -- Harold Akins Councilman The meeting was called to order at 7 :30 p. m. An agreement with Thomas Rogers, developer of Ridge Meadows subdivision, was presented to the Town Board to be filed at the Warren County Clerk's office by the clerk. The agreement in- volves the relinguishing of the right of ownership to the water mains which were offered to the Town of Queensbury at an earlier date. 'THIS INDENTURE made this 29th day of May, 1963 between TOM ROGERS, of Ridge Road, Glens Falls, New York, party of the first part, and TOG7N OF QUEENSBURY, a municipal corporation in the County of Warren and State of New York, acting for and in behalf of Queensbury Water District, party of the second part, WITHNESSETH that, in consideration of the sum of $1.00 lawful money of the United States of America, paid by the party of the second part to the party of the first part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and other valuable considerations, the party of the first part releases, grants and conveys to the party of the second part all of his right, titles and interest in a nd to a certain water main commencing at the intersection of the city line of the City of Glens Falls and the town line of the Town of Queensbury on Wilson Street, running thence northerly along Wilson Street to Cline Avenue; thence easterly on Cline Avenue to Meadowbrook Road and thence northerly on Meadowbrook Road to a point where said main enters the subdivision known as Ridge Meadows, and also any and all water mains theretofore installed by the party of the first part in Ride Meadows subdivision, together with the right to operate, maintain and replace said mains to the same ex- tent as though the party of the second part had originally in- stalled such mains. 436 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the party of the ,f irst part has here- unto set his hand and seal on the day and year first above written. In further consideration the Town of Queensbury agrees to continue the water line northerly along Meadowbrook Road to the Cronin Road and a short distance easterly on the Cronin Road. Tom Rogers L.S. John 0. Webster Notary Public Mr. Beaty, reported on his efforts to encourage a visit to the Town Board by a representative of the Planning Commission of the town or village of Fort Edward. The meeting was not arranged at this time due to previous commitments. A suggestion was advanced along the line of members of the Town Board of Queens- bury making personal telephone calls to members of the Town Board of Fort Edward to discuss the merits of a Planning Board in general. A discussion ensued on the present dumping problem to do with the removal of the building in the city of Glens Falls which was, recently destroyed by fire. The Town Board in general agreed to allow a Town of Queensbury resident, who operates a private dump to make use of the Town Dump for future dumping activity.. The dump comtdittee was in- structed to nofify the caretaker of the town dump to "allow the entrance of the person mentioned to make use of the town dump. Rebate on water bills by the town board in its entirety, agreement was reached that a resident of the Ridge Road Water District should be allowed to submit a voucher for one years partial water consumption, while a resident of Shore Colony will have the supply line capped until such time as the present bill as submitted will be discarded A deed of Patton Drive as prepared by Mr. A. Bartholomew was presented by the Supervisor. Following study of the deed the board agreed that when a deed is prepared for the distance of the water main already installed; same will be accepted On motion the meeting was adjourned.
