Harwood Beaty Councilmen Theodore Turner Councilmen Curtis tampson Councilmen Harold Akins Councilmen The meeting was called to order at 7:30 F.m. - - Mr. Bernard Codner, Superintendent of Highways, was .also present at the meeting. Considerable discussion ensued to do with the proposed water supply system for the Town of Queensbury. Creation of hydrant service in all sections was discussed at length. lr. Codner, reported that the installation of the Ridge- Road water district extension is completed except for the lack of some fittings for one section of pipe. Town Board Town of Queensbury Gentlemen: We the West Glens Falls Fire Co. #1 request Permission to have a carnival on our lot Luzerne Road June 18th thru j 23th 1962. West Glens Falls Fire Co. #1 Francis Johnson See. RESOLUTION NO.. 89 introduced by Mr. Akins seconded by Mr. Lampson. RESOLVED, that permission is hereby granted to the West Glens Falls Fire Co. #1, to -sponsor a carnival on their lot at Luzern Road, from June 18, 1962 to June 23, 1962, and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to issue' a permit for such carnival upon receipt of the fee of $100.00, and upon proof of liability insurance in the amounts of $100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury Liability coverage, a certificate of such insurance coverage to be filed with the Town Clerk. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr, Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster. Noes - None RESOLUTION NO. 90 introduced by Mr. Turner seconded by Mr. Akins. RESOLVED, that permission is hereby granted to William &Jean Purner, 37 Knight Street, Glens Falls, N. Y. to make application to the water board of the City of Glens Falls for water service to a lot situated on the south side of Aviation Road ( Just west of the Roger Stevens residence), thereby becoming water customers of the City of Glens Falls, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the City Water Board and to Mr. William Pruner. Town of Queensbury Warren County New York Gentlemen: I have the petition of the Town Board for a change from flashing to Stop and Go operation of Signal #16, which is located on Route 9L at its intersection with Route 149. An investigation of traffic conditions at this location has been initiated. Upon completion of the necessary field work and review by this Office, I will be glad to inform you of the Commission's conclisions. Very truly yours ` STATE TRAFFIC COMMISSION WILLIAM S. ' Considerable study by all members_.of the board took place to do with the map lay-out of the complete proposed water supply system for the Town of Queensbury. Mr. Joseph Kestner, Consulting Engineer was greeted to the meeting 'at this time. A. question was presented to Mr. Kestner as tb how such time ` would be necessary to prepare the ground work for a start of installation of the roposed water system. The eigiaeer is of i the opinion that action could'take place during the fall of 1962. i Mr. John VanDuseu, Town surveyor visited the meeting and presented an up to date map o, f the proposed Save-On development. Following study of the map by all members of' the board they form ally agreed that the .road _lay-out is satisfactory and that the developer, should be allowed to start work on 61earing of the property, At a Inter date the name'of the road and a deed for same'must be submitted. A48 Among the water districts discussed at this .time, was the- ext-ension on the Bay Road in the North Glens Falls Extension. This new extension will be knows. as' Extension #6. The cost which will be borne by the customers will be $750.00. Upon discussion. of the extension on Homer and Everetts Avenue's known as Extension• #8; the total cost estimated cost is $9000.00. The engineers estimate' on• North Glens Falls Water District #7 on Montray Road was studied at this ti®e. The total cost for the project is estimated at #7200.00 of which $5400.00 is chargeable to the proposed water district extension and $1800.00 is- to be charged to North Glens Falls Water District Extension. Action on this proposal. will take place as soon, as preliminary details are resolved. A lengthly discussion to do with the master plan for a Town of Queensbury Water Supply system took place at this time. Briffin Country Club Road Mr. LeRoy Phillips Chief of Police Mr, Bernard J. Codner Supt. of Highways Mr. George Liapes Supt. of N.G.F. Water Mist. Mr. Griffin, approached the board with a request for a ruling on restriction on new construction in the section of Count Line Road. It was explained to the board that there is bung planned a sizable commercial construction in the near future. ALBERT E. BESWICK Attorney at Law Glens Falls, N.Y. June 14, 1962 - Mr. John 0, Webster, Supervisor Chestnut Ridge Road Glens Falls, N. Y. - Res Assembly Point Tax Cases -Dear John: I have been working on the Assembly Point tax cases- for the past three years, off and on, and up to this point have had no compensation. In 1.959,, there were 32 seperate proceedings which required 32 separate answers. There were 29 cases represented by St. Louis and Weber in which the petitions were defected. I made a motion to dismiss but the Court permitted them to serve amended petitions. s
