The board convened at 7:30 P.M.
Robert Nolan, Attorney for S. -Weeks , was present in the matter of the
application of S. Weeks for the consent of the Town Board of the Town of
Queensbury to operate an omnibus, route over certain streets in the Town
of Queensbury. Mr. Nolan stated that the notice was published pursuant to
law gt ,haotice of a public hearing upon the application. No one appeared
opposing the application. g
The following resolution was adopted: On motion of Councilman Walkup, second-,p,
ed by Councilman Lampson,, the following, resolution No. 60 was unanimously
adopted:
..WHEREAS, Anona S. Weekes, of Glens Falls, N.Y. , has duly presented to
this Board a petition in writing* for permission to operate an omnibus over
certain lands of the Town of Queensbury and
WHEREAS, a notice of such application was duly made and published and
a public hearing held oil the 23rd day of September, 1950 pursuant to such
notice and publication
WHEREAS, Anona S. Weekes appeared by her attorney Robert J. Nolan and
all interested parties were heard
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the consent of the Town Board of
the Tow' n. of Queensbury be and the same hereby is granted to Anona S. Weekes
to operate an,amnibus thru the highways of said town, to wit: on lower
Warren Street and River Street in said Town, as requested in the application
filed with this Board.
Duly adopted by the following vote:
Ayes - Mr. Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Harris
Noes - None
Mr. Frank Cowles, cemetery commissioner, was also present. He discussed
with -the board various cemeteries in Queensbury.
Dr. Henry Clarke, Health Officer, 'discussed health matters with the Board.
Resolution No. 61 introduced by Mr. Justice Sleight who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Justice Bentley.

Budget Note Resolution of September 23, 1950, of the Town of Queensbury,
Warren County, New York, in the amount of $2,000.00.
BE IT RESOLVED this 23rd day of September, 1950, by the Town Board
of the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New`York, as follows:
Section 1. That, pursuant to the Local Finance Law of the State of
New York, the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, for the purpose '
of providing funds for the Machinery Fund of the Town of Queensbury for the
balance of the fiscal year of 1950, shall issue and sell a budget note _
in the amount of $2,000.00 to mature nn the 16t day of April, 1951.
Section 2. That, except as herein specifically prescribed, said --
note shall be of the date, terms , form, contents and place of payment and
at a rate of interest not exceeding five per centum per annum as may be
determined by the Supervisor, consistent, however, with the provisions of
the Local Finance Law of the State of New York, and shall be executed in
the name of the said Town by the Supervisor and the seal of the Town shall
be attached thereto.
Section 3. That said note shall be sold at private sale by the
Supervisor at a price not less than par value and accrued interest, if
any, and upon the due execution and sale of said note the same shall be
delivered totthe purchaser upon the payment by him to the Supervisor of
the purchase price in cash; and the receipt of the Supervisor shall be a
full acquittance to such purchaser who shall not be obliged to see to the
applicat ion of the purchase money.
Section 4. The full faith and credit of the Town of Queensbury,
Warren County, New York,. are pledged to the punctual payment of principal
'r of and interest on said note.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
The foregoing resolution was duly put to a vote by the Town Board
which resolved as follows:

A petition signed by approximately 44 people requesting a maximum speed
limit of 35 miles per• hour- along Dix Ave. from Highland *v e* to Quarry -
Crossing be fixed.

WHEREAS, the Town Board of Queensbury has received a petition
signed by 44 residents of Dix Avenue of the Town of Queensbury, request-
ing that a speed zone with the maximum speed of 35 miles perhour in the
area hereinafter described and the erection of lights at two intersections,
and
WHEREAS three years ago the Town Board of Queensbury requested the
State-Traffic Commission to establish a 35 mile per hour speed limit for
j such area as, such area was considered dangerous for speeds in excess of
35 miles per hour, and

WHEREAS numerous traffic accidents resulting in deaths and serious
injury to persons and damage to property have occurred therein since our
original application,
THEREFORE be it resolved that the Town Board of Queensbury requests
the County of Warren and the New York State Traffic Commission to immed-
iately establish a speed zone along Dix Avenue easterly from Highland
Avenue to Quarry Crossing and the -Warren-Washington County line fixing •a
maximum speed at which vehicles may travel at 35 miles per hour and in -
vestigate the feasibility of the installation of traffic controlled signals
�a t the junction of Dix Avenue by. Highland Avenue and by Queensbury Avenue.

Resolution No. 63 introduced by Mr. Justice Bentley who moved its adopt-

WHEREAS, The Town Board has authorized the issuance and sale of a
budget note in the amount of p2,000.00 to provide funds for the Machinery
Fund of the Town of Queensbury for the balance of the fiscal year of 1950.

- RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized and direct-
ed to invest $2,000.00 of the funds in the capital reserve fund of the
town by purchasing said budget note.
