Turner Town Clerk Arthur Stone, Town Superintend.ant of Highways also present.; Minutes of regular meeting held January 28th I930 read and approved in regard to the installation of a stop go trafic siginal the following resolution was adopted Resolution #I2 Intorduced by justice Garrant seconed by justice taylor all presant voting in the affirmative it was hereby resol- ved that the Clerk is authorized to make a formal application to the state depertment of Highways for permission to erect at the intersection of the highway at monty bridge a stop-go traffic light at road forks station 47, Resolution #131ntorduced by justice taylor seconed by Justice Ellsworth all presant voting in the affirmative it Is hereby resolve Resolved that 'O.R.Duers is authorized to place in _operation at the intersection of the highway at monty bridge a stop and go tttlic light at the road forks station 7, said installation is subjected to the approval and permission of the state department of Highways 6f said installation. And the supervisor is hereby authorized to pay the sum of not to exceed $500 for the installation of Traffic lighto.of the approval and acceptance of said Traffic light by the Town Board and he is also authorized to pay for same prior to audit from the General town fund on the presentation of a properly verified bill for same. A petition of the clerks and inspectors of election of the several election districts in the town of Queensbury asking that said clerk-9 and inspectors wages be raised from I0,00 for election day and primary days to 15.00 and from 6.00 for registration days to I0.00 was read to the board in ,regard to the above the following resolution was adopted . Resolution #I4 Intorduced by justice taylor seconed by clerk turner all presant voting in the affirmative the chairman is hereby authorized to appoint a committee_ of one member of the board to interview County Attorney in regard to compensation of inspectore of election and clerks chairman appointed Justice Gifford Mr Smith of the ford garage co and Mr reed of the Reo- service called on the board- and raised objection of the .town buying a brockway motor truck for 5.300 stating that he could buy the same type of truck for 4,500 and several letters was shown to the board surporting to the price- on the aforesaid truck that the town board authorized to be baught by resolution #II of the proceeding meeting to substantiale` the prtce of $5.300µ2 and on a quotation for the same ,type "truck for 4.500 justice ,gifford sated that their was some mieunderstan+dind" as to the matter and offered motion to reeihd the resolution and after further discussion the following resolution was intorduced and adopted Resolution ;MI5 .Intorduced by ,justice gifford seconed by justice to taylor all presant voting in thea affirmative it is hereby resolved that Resolution #II authorizing town 'Supt of highways to purchas a brockway truck be and is hereby recinded Resolution #16 intorduced by Clerk Turner seconed by Justice taylor all presanv voting in the affirmitive the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the clerk to advertize for sealed bids for the following described equipment one automobile truck 2 ton cacity 2 yard body dual wheels hydrolio hoist fulley equipted one autonobile truck 3 ton capacity 3 yard- body dual wheels hydroiic hoist fulley 9 Equipted,and two automobile trucks 2 ton capacity -?yd body- dual wheels 11ydrali2 hoist-fully equipted y-Automobile trucks-3 ton capacity-3 yd body-duel -vOieels Hydralic hoist A fully equipted. Puther resolved that all of said bids shall include delivery to the Town Store house in the Town of Jueensbury and. Special Meeting March 12th, 1930 At a special meeting of the Town Board of the 'Town of Jueensbury, called by the chairman, to consider the proposedanneaation of a portion of Town of queensbury to the City of Glens Falls and such other business as may come before the Board at this time, held on the above date at 2 pm at Clerks office, the following members were presents Jerry B. . Mead Supervisor M. P. Gifordl Justice of Peace Ross F. Taylor George Garrent Floyd Ellsworth Bert D. Turner Town Clvrk County Attorney Beecher Clothier, H. G. Potter, Mr. 1ngd1sbeealso ` a present. The Board generally discussed the proposed annexation and raised the objections to it and adopted the following resolution; Resolution #17, introduced by Justice Taylot, Seconded by Bert Turne'lr, all present voting in the affirmative, It is hereby resolved tjta.t the Town Board authorized and directs Town :Attorney Beecher Clothier to represent the Town of queensbury in any meeting or meetings or other proceaedure to oppose the proposed annexation of a portion of the Town of queensbury as definedtin Act. #1689', introduced in the Assembly by Mr. Boyce,member of Assembly for the County of Tarren. A letter from New York Power & bight was read to the Board request4r ing"permission to lay a gas main, along River Street in the Town of queensbury, and the following resolution was adopted, Resolution #18, introduced by Bert Turner, seconded_ by Justice Garrent, all present voting in the affirmative. It is hereby resolved that the Supervisor Mead is appointed a commi'tte of one to interview Co.' Attorney and have necessary papers drawn in regard to the New York Power Corp. laying a gas main along River Street in the- Town Of Ilueensbury, Justice Gifford reported that he had been unable to see the Co. Attorney in regard to the Compensation of Clerks and inspectors of Elections but had been at his office d,nd had left the petition there. The Co. Attorney, who was present stated. that ,he received the .� petition and that the amount of the salary was to be fixed by the Town Board. No further action was taken on the above. A. communication was received from the Clerk of the Board of Trusttes of Hudson Falls was received and read to the Board. The above was inregard to laying a sewer along the Boulevard near the, Co. line, stateing that the estimate cost would be 11800.009 at that the Town of queensbury share would be 7900.00. No action was taken on the matter. e A petition signed by the Assessors asking for 32.00 raise in pay per day read to the Board and referred to Co. Attorney. Town Clerk w
