MINUTES of the public hearing of the Zoning Board of

Appeals held July 16, 1975 at 7:35 P.M.
There were present:
Jack Fitzgerald (Chairman)
Charles Sicard
Sjoerdje Richardson
George Kurosaka
being the zœmbers of the Board. On a notion by Charles Sicard,
seconded by Sjoerdje Richardson, the minutes of the last meeting
were approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS
Variance #404 - Long John Silver, Route 9 - Miller Hill to
erect a sign on the rcof of the property situated at Route 9,
Miller Hill.
John Lerœry, Attorney appeared in behalf of Long John Silver.
Due to the absence of Richard Sander spree , Mr. Lerœry asked per-
mission to postpone this variance until the next rœeting. Per-
mission was granted.
NEW' BUSINESS
Variance #407 - Ernest Skellie, Rhode Island Avenue, Zone R-4
to sell and repair firearms in an R-4 Zone with a 2 I X 3' sign on
the property situated to Rhode Island Avenue, 150 ft. north of Cor-
inth Road.
John Austin appeared on behalf of Mr. Skellie, who was also
present. Mr. Austin stated that Mr. Skellie was enployed full tine
by the Town of Queensbury and repairing firea:rrns would be done in
his free hours. All 'WOrk and sales will be conducted inside the
building, with changes to the structure. The sign would not be ill-
uminated and would be of nornal size.

both to the business and also to the sign.
Mr. Fitzgerald (talking to Mr. George Liapes) requested an
interpretation fran the Town Attorney regarding hone occupations.
He stated the language of the zoning law says that no articles be
sold.
Mr. Austin asked the board to vote on this application in
its entirety.
On a motion by Mr. Fitzgerald seconded by Charles Sicard and
in conforrrance with the Town of Queensbury I s recomrended approval,
this variance be approved.
2 - In favor
1 - Opposed (S. Richardson) only to the sign.
Variance #408 - Bohdan Komarnycky, Route 9, Lake George Road,
Zone C-3 to conduct a light manufacturing and assembly operation in
an existing building in a C-3 zone on the property situated at the
west side of route 9 (old S&H Green Starrp Store.)
Mr. Gordon Garlick appeared on behalf of Mr. Kormarnycky who
also was present.
Mr. Garlick stated this 'WOuld be laminated sections which will
be assembled to be sold to CCItUTercial establishments such as notels,
etc. They 'WOuld not change the front of the building.
A letter was read from the fire marshall stating that the
building was okay with proper extinguisher replacements.
There were no appearances for or against.
The Town of Queensbury reconmended approval with the follow-
ing stipulations:
1 - To be inspected by the Queensbury Fire Marshall
2 - Queensbury Carmittee for Commmity Beautification to be
notified .

Warren County reeomnended approval based on the sarœ con-
di tions as the Town of Queensbu:ry Board.
Charles Sicard made a rrotion that Variance #408 be approved
subject to the suggestions of both planning boards and that the
Beautification Comnittee be notified.
This rrotion was azœnded to further state that the particular
requirerœnts as to the fan,etc. be inco:rporated into the notion.
This was seconded by S. Richardson. Unanim:>us.
Variance #409 - Stanley Juckett, 369 Ridge Road, Zone R-3
to continue to operate a Real Estate and Insurance Office in a
dwelling with a 2 I X 3' identification sign in an R-3 Zone on the
property situated at 369 Ridge Road. (All Good Realty)
Mr. Juckett was present and stated that the zoning board had
previously given him a one year permit to operate. He stated he
had complied with the board and he had provided for nore parking
which they had allowed last year. He further stated there were
no carplaints from any neighbors in the year he has been operating.
No appearances for or against.
He has a sign in the window at present which would be lOOved
to the outside which 'WOuld be a standard residential sign 2' x 3'.
Both planning board approved.
George Kurosaka made a rrotion that Variance #409 be approved
in conformance with the planning boards and location of the sign
to be approved by the zoning inspector.
This was seconded by Charles Sicard. Unanim:>us.
