QUEENSBURY RECREATION COMMISSION
MINUTES OF MEETING
FEBRUARY 5, 1996
Minutes of the special meeting of the Recreation Commission of the Town of Queensbury
held Monday, February 5, 1996, at the Queensbury Town Office Building, Queensbury, New
York. Chairman Simmonds called the meeting to order at 7:11 a.m.

ABSENT: Commissioners LaBombard (ex) and Maine (ex)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
None
CONSOLIDATION PLAN DISCUSSION
Chairman Simmonds briefly outlined and explained her meeting with the Town Supervisor
concerning his proposed consolidation merger plan. The proposal would significantly affect
the Department of Parks and Recreation and had been discussed by the Board at their
workshop meeting on January 22, 1996. She also detailed her subsequent meeting (1/30/96)
with the members of the Recreation Committee of the Town Board (Councilwomen Pulver
and Goedert) which she had requested as a result of the merger proposal.
The Commission discussed the consolidation plan at length and it was agreed that the
Commission would accept the Board's invitation and attend the February 12, 1996 workshop
meeting to discuss and express their (the Commission's) viewpoint.
The Director was instructed to send out a reminder notice (time and date) to all
commissioners regarding the workshop.
There being no further business, the Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:08 a.m. The
next meeting will be held on February 13, 1996, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the supervisor's
conference room (#37), at the Queensbury Town Office Building.
