MINUTES OF MEETING
JUNE 10. 1992
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Recreation Commission of the Town of Queensbury,
held Wednesday, June 10, 1992, at a pre-arranged site on Herald Drive, in the West Glens
Falls Area. Chairman Simmonds called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

Due to the lack of a quorum, the regularly scheduled monthly meeting was adjourned without
conducting any official business. However, those present, accompanied by the visitors
then proceeded to tour the 20.9 acre parcel which the owners of the Herald Square Phase
II Subdivision (No. 13-86), were offering to be dedicated to the Town, in-lieu of payment
of the subdivision/recreation fee. The site was heavily wooded (fairly thick vegetation),
with a 10' wide stream (approximately) traversing the entire length of the parcel from
north to south.
Following the tour, the group (staff and Recreation Commissioners), met informally to
discuss the site and it was the consensus that, considering all factors (suitability.
characteristics and possible future usability/development, etc.), the acquisition of this
parcel as a possible future park site, was not recommended at this time. The Director
will relay this to the Town Board as soon as possible.
