Minutes of the June 1, 2010 regular meeting of the Queensbury Recreation
Commission held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference Room
Chairman LaBombard called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm
Roll Call:

Approval of Minutes:
It was moved by Commissioner Mott, seconded by Commissioner Maine, to
approve the minutes from the May 4, 2010 meeting. All members present
approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
• Monthly Correspondence
• Request for public access to records from Lorrie Matuszak
• Copy of Resolution authorizing transfer of funds for emergency
repairs at Gurney Lane Pool
• Copy of monthly budget control report dated 5/28/2010
• Copy of employee roster for summer of 2010
• Copy of 2010 meeting schedule—next meeting during summer
months will be July 27th
Unfinished Business
• Gurney Lane Pool Circulation pump repair—update. Work on installation is
just about completed. Startup/testing is due shortly. Discussion on the
particulars of the project and the savings accrued due to energy
conservation.
New Business
• Gurney Lane Memorial Garden—request from family of Fredricka Ramsey
to raise money and install a perennial garden. Motion by Commissioner
Conboy to name a Memorial Garden in honor of Fredricka Ramsey with a
simple plaque approved by Commission, seconded by Commissioner Irish.
All members present approved.
• 2010 Park Project update (see file for copy of report)
• Bike committee is making some progress. Commissioner Mott reported
plans thus far. Off road trails discussed. Gurney Lane sited as a possible
site for single track trails. Commission supports the work of this committee.
A motion by Commissioner Irish, seconded by Commissioner Maine to
make the Safe and Quality Cycling committee (LaBombard, Mott, Irish,
Conboy)a standing committee of the Recreation Commission chaired by
Commissioner Mott. Discussion on pros and cons of combining with
Warren County efforts. Question called for: All members present approved.
