Minutes of the August 6, 2010 special meeting of the Recreation Commission of
the Town of Queensbury held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference
Room
Vice Chairman Mott called the meeting to order at 6:13 pm
Roll Call:
• Present— Conboy, Fusco, Irish, Maine, Mott
• Excused— LaBombard, White
• Staff—Director Lovering, Assistant Director O'Shaughnessy
• Guests--none
This special meeting was called to discuss the 2011 budget and the potential cuts
due to request of Supervisor Stec. A great deal of discussion followed using as a
basis the prepared/revised 2011 budget as prepared by Director Lovering and his
staff. This budget consisted of a 12.7% reduction over the first draft of the 2011
proposed budget. The discussion consisted of, but not limited to, the pros and cons
of reduced/eliminated programs, numbers of participants affected, discretionary
and non-discretionary expenditures, revenues lost due to reduced/eliminated
programs.
The following dates of importance were noted:
August 26tH—budget to Supervisor Stec via computer
September 9th—meeting with Supervisor Stec
Also discussed was the Occupancy Tax funding. Director Lovering and the
Commission have identified $32,000 that will qualify for the Occupancy Tax
funding. A motion was made by Commissioner Conboy, seconded by
Commissioner Irish to accept the $32,000 amount of expenditures and submit to
the Town Board. All members present appoved.
Adjournment
Motion by Commissioner Irish, seconded by Commissioner Mott to adjourn at
7:21 pm. All members present approved.
