Minutes of the July 26, 2011 regular meeting of the Recreation Commission of the Town of
Queensbury held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference Room
Chairman LaBombard called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm

Approval of Minutes:
It was moved by Commissioner Mott, seconded by Commissioner Matthews, to approve the
minutes from the June 7, 2011 meeting. All members present approved.
Communications and remarks from visitors:
• Monthly Correspondence: (see file for copies)
• Letter from Chairman LaBombard regarding denial of rowing permit
• E-mails to Eric Catalano regarding removal of the tent at the river
• Chairman LaBombard reviewed some contacts from various people regarding
the permit denial with brief discussion
• Newspaper article on party at Hovey Pond. Program was very successful and
well received by the public.
• Budget Control Report as of 7/26/11—brief discussion on "we are running out of funds"
Unfinished Business
• Queensbury Rowing Group—Discussion, Chairman—see above
• Hudson River Park Vandalism Update—Director Lovering reviewed progress thus far.
Repair work is completed. Invoice will be sent for other expenses.
New Business
• 2012 Department Budget—discussion—due on August 91" Preliminary figures are being
put together for the Commission to review. It is going to be a tight budget year with
reductions being requested by the Town.
• Supervisor/Commission August 2nd meeting (agenda items)—Chairman LaBombard
reviewed agenda items for this meeting with Supervisor Stec

• Budget Review—Set meeting date—August 4t" or 5t" for preliminary numbers to Budget
Committee
• Safe and Quality Cycling

Additional information or reports—new sign at Gurney Lane
