GURNEY LANE POOL PROJECT DISCUSSION The Director updated the Commission regarding the status of the Gurney Lane Pool Project and there was discussion regarding ways to trim the project. The Commission was informed by Councilman Morrell that the Town Board officially rejected all bids for the project at their November 22nd meeting. Both Town Councilmen re-affirmed that the primary reason the Board rejected all the bids was because the bids received were so overpriced. The Board is still very much in favor of the project to revitalize the Gurney Lane Recreation Area and will hopefullyre-bid the project later this year. There was also discussion on Round Pond and the status of the Town's deliberation with the owner. The Councilmen advised the Com- mission that the Town was still in negotations with Mr. Russo and that there had been no movement, either up or down, from the initial asking price. The Commission unanimously suggested that the Chairman initiate a letter to the Town Board on behalf of the Commission reaffirming their continued support for the Gurney Lane project and their hope that the project can be re-bid as soon as feasible. 1985 MONTHLY MEETING DATES The enclosed schedule of Recreatiion Commission meeting dates for 1985 were reviewed and approved as printed.
