Meeting Cancellation
As you know, May and June are extremely busy months for
the Director in preparation for summer programs. In addition
the Depar tIn en t' s adult softball leagues have begun and as usual
the umpire situation, because 'of High School baseball conflicts,
is still up in the air.
Therefore, after discussing the situation with Chairman
Lit~le and because the agenda for the upcoming meeting was
small with nothing urgent, itcwas decided that the May Com-
mission meeting could be cancelled. Consequently, the next
regularly scheduled meeting of the Recreation Commission will
be the June meeting on the 27th at the regular time.
Please be advised that the Town Board has been made
aware of the pool renovation estimates and a joint meeting
has been requested, but not scheduled at this time.
Work at Gurney Lane, because of weather has progressed
slowly, but the pool should be. open on schedule on the 28th
of May.
The summer brochure is at the printers and should be
ready on time and distribuĊd throughout the community by
early June.
Interviews for summer positions has also begun and based
on the number of applicants, there should be no difficulty in
hiring a complete staff.
If you have any problems or concerns about summer programs,
most of which will begin the week of June 27th, do not hesitate
to contact me.
