Councilmen Monahan and Morrell
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Bly moved to approve the minutes of the April
26, 1982 meeting. Commissioner Champagne seconded the motion which
was unanimously approved.
NEW COMMISSIONER WELCOMED
Director Hansen introduced Mr. Joseph Teti, who had recently
been appointed, by the Town Board to fill the vacancy in the Recre-
ation Commission and Chairman Yasko formally welcomed him.
COMMUNICATIONS/CORRESPONDENCE
The Commission was advised that Crandall Library had requested
the Recreation Department's assistance in offering a children's
trip to the ballet at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Trans-
portation which has in the past been provided by the Glens Falls
school system was not available this year. Therefore; the Library
had asked if the Department would be interested in co-sponsoring
this annual event which would be available to all children in the
area sometime in July. In as much as the Department has use of
Queensbury School busses the Library was requesting our help in
terms of transportation only. The cost for gas and drivers would
be subsidized by Crandall Library and there would be no cost to
the Department. After some discussion the Commission approved
the request and instructed the Director to work out the details
with the Library.

DIRECTOR'S REPORT
The Director advised the Commission that the Department's
Master Plan had been formally presented to the Supervisor and
that as soon as the Board has a chance to peruse it, a special
meeting to discuss the plan would be held.
The Director's Report was presented verbally and there were
some comments regarding summer programs. Most programs began
today and will of course continue for eight weeks. Swim lessons
at Gurney Lane began on schedule and it looks as though attendance
will be as high as ever.
Overall the Director was pleased with the first day of programs
however. a more complete analysis should be available by the next
meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:05 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Monday, July 26,
1982.
