2012-04-03 Queensbury parks and Recreation Commission Queensbury, NY Minutes of the April 3, 2012 regular meeting of the Recreation Commission of the Town of Queensbury held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference Room Chairwoman White called the meeting to order at 7:03pm Roll Call: • Present— Conboy, Fusco, Goralski, Hewlett, Matthews,White • Excused— Mott • Staff—Director Lovering,Assistant Director Lori O'Shaughnessy, and Program Coordinator Jen Baertschi • Guests—Ron Wolfe from Adirondack Youth Soccer Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Hewlett, seconded by Commissioner Matthews,to approve the minutes from the March 6, 2012 meeting. All members present approved. Ron Wolf-President of Adirondack Soccer gave a brief resume of his association with the Club. Adirondack Soccer has an interest to keep Jenkinsville at the current high standard of maintenance with a willingness to assume a limited amount of funding for nets, goals etc. Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies) • Monthly Correspondence • Town Board resolution authorizing use of Town property for training by Bay Ridge Fire Co. • Town Board resolution authorizing advertisement of bids for sale of obsolete vehicles and equipment • Budget Control Report as of 03/29/2012 reviewed • Employee Roster for winter 2011-2012 reviewed (no change from last month) • Recreation Commission list of Committees and Officers reviewed and agreed to Unfinished Business • Update on proposed new Jenkinsville Maintenance Building by Director Lovering, specifically the bids and bidding process also a brief explanation time line • Sub-division fee increase recommendation with documentation–recommendation from the commission to consider a commercial fee along with a residential fee. A recommended fee will be considered at the May meeting after further research. New Business • New Discussion items from Commissioners-none • Discussion on Queensbury Schools closing three buildings during the summer which will severely impact our programs.
