2005-10-13 SP MTG 46 1 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING 10-13-2005 MTG.#46 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING MTG. # 46 OCTOBER 13, 2005 RES. 487 5:30 p.m. TOWN BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT SUPERVISOR DANIEL STEC COUNCILMAN ROGER BOOR COUNCILMAN THEODORE TURNER COUNCILMAN JOHN STROUGH COUNCILMAN TIM BREWER 2006TOWN BUDGET 1.NON PROFITS Existing non profits funded at 2005 budgeted amount except the following: Glen Lake-$15,000 increase Firemen’s Parade $10,000 N.Y. State Basketball Championship – increased to $5,000 2.VEHICLES Tandem for Highway Dept. to be included in the 2006 budget Agreed to include the highway foreman vehicle, used for Ward I and II Vehicles for water, wastewater and building and codes not included in the 2006 budget 3.FIRE/EMS EMS- Bay Ridge and North Queensbury – contract in place for next year West Glens Falls Rescue Squad – took out old mortgage and replaced with new mortgage$135,000 or $137,000 per year FIRE CO- Queensbury Central – No vehicle fund - will receive $97,000 mortgage payment South Queensbury-No vehicle fund – budgeted $140,000 Board agreed to change the figures in the fire company budgets and add 3% increase for operation and maintenance for all fire companies included in this change will be West Glens Falls EMS Squad Discussion held regarding intercept services with Empire… 2006 budget will reflect 4 and half persons for paid EMS reflecting the same as we have had in 2005. Discussion held regarding recreation fees, noted that the Recreation Commission will be reviewing fees this winter, to have the new schedule ready for the summer programs. Discussion held regarding raising the fees at Pine View Cemetery and Crematorium. Town Supervisor will send a memo to the Recreation Commission and Cemetery Commission requesting that they review their fee schedules. 2 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING 10-13-2005 MTG.#46 Discussion held in regard to EMS Insurance-any increase will come from their fund balance… Discussion held re: Insurance for EMS – It was discussed for general liability insurance to have one policy for all three districts..could be negotiated in their contract…requested that the Budget Officer inquire as to what the general liability insurance would cost for all three companies.. Supervisor Stec-We are all set with the budget for Monday night.
