Hi Mike
I want to see if I can address some of your concerns below. I had realized after I created the PDF submission I had not
shown the width of the narrowest point of the toll plaza, and merely stuck it into my previous email to Craig, We had
modified the opening to a width of 27' and 2", exceeding the 26' minimum we had discussed onsite. I am making the
assumption this is the dimension you were seeking? The booth itself is to measure 4' x 8', and is to sit on a slab or island
measuring 7'x 21'.
1 regards to the cross arm barrier, although we have placed an order for the device, we simply will not have it in time for
opening weekend, and most likely will not have it for our second weekend. It is not our intention to install the barrier
until we can supply the bypass that we have discussed. Therefore the path will remain open at its full width of 27' 2"
until all the access devices are installed that we discussed.
I'll try to give a call this afternoon to see if we have covered everything sufficiently. Otherwise, always feel free to call

Hi Ray,
I have reviewed the submittal; however the drawing still does not provide any dimensional information.
In addition, we spoke last week about the means for FD access when the arms are or closed, and I did not find those
details in this submittal. We had discussed options such as siren activated, manual override key or switch as possibilities.
I see the work has begun so it is proceed at your own risk at this point.

I did not show a specific dimension with the distance of our proposed toll booth from the road, however a straight line
measure 90' from road to corner of booth.

D103.5 Fire apparatus access road gates. Gates securing the fire apparatus access roads shall comply
with all of the following criteria:
1. The minimum gate width shall be 20 feet(6096 mm).
2. Gates shall be of the swinging or sliding type.
3. Construction of gates shall be of materials that allow manual operation by one person
.4. Gate components shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times and replaced or
repaired when defective.
5. Electric gates shall be equipped with a means of opening the gate by fire department
personnel for emergency access. Emergency opening devices shall be approved by the code
enforcement official.
6. Manual opening gates shall not be locked with a padlock or chain and padlock unless they are
capable of being opened by means of forcible entry tools or when a key box containing the key(s) to the
