The auditors have approved our books but are pressing
for the spending of our capital fund and our general
fund balances . There is also $4101.36 in the road fund.
It is estimated that it will take atleast $2000 to complete
the road projects and perhaps another equal sum to redo the
very unsa%tisfactory job done in the new section.
The cemetery commission has four neccessary projects to
accomplish. Pineview Cemetery should have a stone entry
sign. The new section must be landscaped. There needs to
be a culvert and a bridge in the eastern corner of the
cemetery. We must build a strong and attractive fence on
our westerly line to keep the Cale Development Corp. from
further ruining the brook, the land and the lovely old
pines that act as a buffer between the mess on their property
and the peace of the cemetery.

The auditors recommend that there be a gradual taking over
of the cemetery funds with the idea of slightly reducing
taxes . Their thinking is that "perpetual care" can never
get enough of a base to operate the cemetery. This is true
since we have not been allowed to reinvest interest. As the
percentage of income from investments dropp in relation to
taxpayer monies needed to run the cemeteries of Queensbury,
" perpetual care" loses importance in the overall picture.
The other business discussed concerns Seelyee Cemetery. There
are several lots that might be for sale. Since the town gets
all the abandonned cemeteries when the are no more lots to be
sold, it might just be wise to take a look at this property
now. Mrs . Dougher will follow through on this .
