07-13-1988 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
July 13, 1988
9:00am
Present : Dougher, Prime and Supt . Mosher
There is a correction to the minutes of June 1, 1988 concerning
the failure of the insurance company to pay the claim for the
damage done to the Mt . Hermon fencing. Utica Mutual did pay a
claim for repair in the amount of $1955. A second accident claim
with a repair quote of $1865 has been ignored and the repair has
not been done .
The state inspector has seen the crematory and given the operation
high marks . There is a real growth in the number of cremations .
Sears Tree Service quoted a price of $650 to remove the dead tree
in the Jenkinsville Cemetery. No action was taken as we were
uncertain if this included the removal of the stump.
Doyle' s wants to take care of the Quaker Cemetery next to their
property, charging us $400 per year which would be a savings . The
Commissioners wish to be sure that we would incur no additional
liability if we agree to this arrangment .
Mr . Mosher met with Peggy Freeburn to check on our budget/spending
ratio . The sale of lots and cemetery service income is lower than
budget but that item was fixed by the Queensbury Town Board and
was more generous than our own estimate . The crematory continues
to show an operating profit . The $10 mailing fee for remains was
well accepted by the funeral directors .
