02-01-1989 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
Feb. 1, 1989
9: 00am
Present : Dougher, Edwards and Supt . Mosher
Supt . Mosher reported that 301 cremations were done in our first
year of operation.
Sunnyside fencing has been taken for repair . The Town insurance
will pay the cost . Due to the large expense, Supt . Mosher will
report back to us at the next meeting.
The men are painting the inside of the building during the winter
months .
At 10 : 00am, we were joined by Supervisor Borgos, Councilwoman
Monahan and Attorney Paul Dusek. A discussion was held regarding
the percentage held for perpetual care from the sale of lots . It
was agreed that the Town Board would pass a resolution that we
withold 1/3rd. The attorney will research the best way to correct
past years when we witheld 1/3rd without such a resolution but
with no objection from the Board. Other problems of the cemetery
were discussed at length. Mr. Dusek will research the cemetery
laws as they apply to us, especially regarding the Seelye Cemetery
and the fact that a private party is involved with the selling of
lots .
Mr. Dusek advised us that it would be improper for Lee Memorials
to construct a mausoleum in the cemetery as a selling tool . If he
purchased a lot for this purpose, we would have to review the
matter with the attorney. Supt . Mosher will contact Brian Lee and
so inform him.
