05-01-1991 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
May 1, 1991
9: 00am
Present : Dougher, Prime and Supt . Mosher with Town Board member,
Betty Monahan, in attendence for the first part of the meeting.
It has come to the attention of the Commission that without any
consultation or approval of the Commission, the firm of Rist Frost
was sent down to the Pine View Cemetery to look over the building
and come up with a plan for expansion.
A general report has been made in writing to Mr. Borgos from that
firm and a bill for $4, 268 . 35 has been rendered by the firm
which has been charged by Mr. Borgos to the cemetery budget .
The Cemetery Commission feels that this expenditure, since it is
neither a budgeted item nor a priority of the commission nor an
expenditure approved by the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury,
may not be charged to the budget of the Cemetery.
The Cemetery Commission of the Town of Queensbury was created by
an act of the legislature of New York State and charged with
managing the cemeteries of the town. All commissioners have taken
this charge seriously and attempted to run the cemeteries through
the superintendent in conjuntion with the elected officials in a
sound and sensible manner.
A letter will be sent to the Town Supervisor and to all Town Board
Members expressing our concern and asking how this will be
resolved.
A partial payment for the long term storage of the body involved
in the lawsuit has been received and the remainder is coming soon .
The Mt . Hermon fence along the Luzerne Road measures 500 feet . The
insurance people will be advised of the replacement cost for the
damaged sections .
