Present : Dougher, Edwards, Prime, Supt . Mosher and Betty Monahan
The new retort has been tested and is working well . The old retort
now needs to be relined.
There was a minor accident to a truck caused by a man who
acknowledged his fault and the repair was paid by his insurance .
The pond has again been drained to kill weeds and algae and to
allow the pulling of more stumps this winter. The fall cleanup is
under way.
New drainage has been put in at West Glens Falls and the problem
of water on graves should be corrected.
Discussion of the Supervisor' s proposed budget, especially the
elimination of the superintendent, addition of a person to oversee
several departments splitting time between each and elimination of
a part—time secretary, took some time and it was decided to meet
with the town board at the buget review meeting on Tuesday, Oct .
13 . The law seems quite clear that . managment decisions of this
nature are the responsibility of the Cemetery Commission. The
Commission feels that a full time superintendent is necessary to
the proper running of the various cemeteries and crematory of the
town. There was, also, no indication of setting up of a repayment
schedule for the monies lent to buy the Crematory and the new
retort .
