03-01-1995 PINE VIEW CEMETERY COMMISSION
March 1, 1995
9:00am
Present: Dougher, Prime, Ted Turner (Town Board Member), Terry Higgins
(interested town resident), Supt. Rod Mosher
There was no meeting of the Commission in February.
Because Supt. Mosher will be briefly in the hospital on the first Wednesday in April, the
Pine View Cemetery Commission will meet on April 12, 1995. Darleen will be asked to
make the proper notice of meeting changes.
DEC suggested signing the pond and speaking to the folks who feed the ducks before
any other steps are taken to reduce the number of birds. Rod and his men have done
this and it may be helping cut the numbers.
The poor looking trees at the Quaker Cemetery belong to Doyle's and they may decide
•
to remove them. The sign marking the cemetery is quite old and needs a cleaning. Rod
will get some prices together and then the Town Historian is interested in following
through with actually having the work done if the cost is minor.
The Hunt's tree service people did a good job in Jenkinsville Cemetery dropping the big
pine. The Austin Cemetery tree is all trimmed out. There was some damage done,
however, in Mt. Hermon Cemetery with one stone broken and a section of fence bent
abit. These will be repaired.
There were 50 cremations in January, slightly ahead of last year.
There was an accident which resulted in some-damage to the face of a stone in Pine
View during an opening on another lot. The family was notified. The face of the stone
needs to be repolished as it is a dark surface and the two nicks do show as whiter
spots. The insurance company will be contacted.
The new section, Horicon, near the building has been surveyed and is ready for the
sale of lots.
