08-02-1995 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION
August 2 , 1995 9 a.m.
PRESENT: Superintendent Rodney Mosher
Commissioners : Sylvia Dougher, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins
Councilwoman: Betty Monahan
Town Comptroller: Cathy Geoffroy
After a conference with representation of Town Councilwoman
Betty Monahan and Comptroller Cathy Geoffroy, it was decided to
resolve the issue of the amount due relative to the purchase and
any improvements made to the Crematory versus the amount of the
unremitted interest due to the Town. The amount due from the Town
to the Cemetery Commission was estimated at $40, 000 and unpaid as
of December 31, 1994 is $10, 000 .
Rodney reported that the violent storm in July resulted in a
loss of about 25 large trees in Pine View. The outside cemeteries
were not damaged. The fallen trees have been cut up and removed.
One large damaged tree in the vicinity of the Crematorium needs to
be removed.
Horicon will open in October. The lot to the left of Mohican
will need a final grade. Paul Naylor estimated the cost at $4 , 000 .
Mowing has been at a minimum due to the dry weather.
With regard to the budget, Rodney does not foresee any major
expenses except for a trade on a new tractor and continuing to
build a reserve for a dump truck.
Bob Edwards is up for a new appointment on the Cemetery
Commission.
There is a possibility of selling some lots on the back side
' of the Knob (Ondawa) .
Cathy Geoffroy will check on the balance of the Boychuk
account .
