11-08-1995 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION November 8, 1995 9 a.m. PRESENT: Superintendent Rodney Mosher Commissioners : Sylvia Dougher, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins Councilman Ted Turner Councilwoman Betty Monahan There was no November meeting. Foundations are poured for the year, the pond is drained and the water is shut off until April 1996 . Gail St . Clair will hopefully be returning to work 20 hours a week at Pine View this year under the Green Thumb program. As of the first of the year the Town will payher salary. See attached Resolution regarding part time non-union employment . There were 44 cremations in October and 430 year to date. Rodney expects to pass the 500 mark by December 31, 1995 . Ed Matraw is out this week and expects to be out for three months at the beginning of the year. Gary Grant will run the crematorium in his absence. Pine View fall cleanup, is completed. There is still some work to be done at three outside cemeteries . Horicon' s maps are in and lots will be sold as soon as it staked out. There will be approximately 552 burial sites which Rodney expects will cover three years . In the Spring another piece will be graded out in the back. Winter staking is underway. Mohican, which has 1 , 104 graves, is almost full after only being open four years . In the springtime we are anticipating a flagpole being placed behind the Pine View sign. Sylvia reported that Paul Dusek confirmed that the deed to Friend' s Cemetery is ready to be signed and is presently in the hands of another attorney. Page 2 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION , Nov. 8, 1995 The Town Board has reappointed Bob Edwards to another term on the Queensbury Cemetery Commission expiring December 31, 1998 . Rodney met with the Town Board regarding the Cemetery budget and everything was agreed upon. The new tractor has arrived from Bebout Ford Rodney is waiting to hear from Tom Flaherty regarding the water hookup up back. Councilwoman Betty Monahan raised the topic of having the Town supply topsoil to the Cemetery to defray the cost of purchasing it privately. In 1995 the Cemetery purchased $700 in topsoil at $11 per ton. 80 tons have been used this year to date. Gail St. Claire to a part-time Clerk position at Pine View Cemetery & Crematorium, as part of the Green Thumb Program, Office of the Aging, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby appoints Ms . Gail St. Claire to the part-time Clerk position, effective immediately, with the understanding that the salary for the part-time position will be paid by Green Thumb for the remainder of the 1995 year, and the Town of Queensbury to fund said position as of January 1, 1996 .
