QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION

Councilmen: Ted Turner, Betty Monahan
Rodney made a comparison study of the Capital District, Vermont
and Massachusettes crematory fees . After a review, the
Commission has approved the following rate changes effective
April 1, 1997 :
1) Former New
Charge Charge
Cremation, adult $ 185 $ 195
Cremation, children 13 mo. -2 yrs 110 115
Cremation, stillborn - 12 mos . 70 75
2) Overtime Charge for Cremation only - $50 additional
• after 3 p.m. on any work day including Saturday.
Sunday and holidays are excluded.
3) Refrigeration Rental - $25 per day charge if unit is
needed for extended storage.
A -letter is being sent to the Town Board requesting a Resolution
for these changes . -
Ed Matraw is back to work. Mike Lopez and occasionally Gary
Grant filled in during his absence.
There were 55 cremations in January and 49 in February.
There are 15 bodies in the Vault .
Cleanup - Some trees were lost during the recent storm and they,
as well as brush, have been removed. The Highway Department has
been helpful in the aftermath of the snow storms .
Rodney will contact Paul Naylor about resurfacing the roads
within Pine View Cemetery.
Through newspaper accounts and drive-bys, Rodney believes that
Quaker Cemetery has been unharmed by the forthcoming construction
of the new CVS Pharmacy.
