04-09-1997 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION
April 9, 1997 - 9 a.m.
PRESENT: Mike Lopez, Working Foreman
Commissioners : Sylvia Dougher, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins
Councilmen: Ted Turner, Betty Monahan
The Town has approved the revisions the Commission recommended for
crematory fees .
There are 15 bodies left in the vault . They should be out by mid May.
Rodney is recovering from his heart attack and expects to return to work
sometime in May.
Spring cleanup has started.
The Grange wants to erect a sign at Sunnyside Cemetery. Sylvia asked them
to submit their plans to the Commission for approval .
Mr. Mastrantoni wanted to purchase one-half of a mausoleum lot behind the
one he owns and move the structure. His concern is that the snow banks
prevent him from physically approaching the mausoleum. Mike Lopez
explained that he could not purchase a partial lot but that the cemetery
crew would try to keep the snowbanks down in that vicinity.
The Town Board approved the repurchase of the lot from Herbert Richard
Heyer.
Betty Monahan expressed concern over the fumes from the garage entering the
Cemetery office. Sylvia suggested that during renovations to the building
the heating system could be redesigned or modified at that time .
The Town owes the Commission $50 . 00 from a payment by Mr. Kantorski that
was erroneously sent to the Town. Bob Edwards will take care of the paper
work.
