QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION

There were 50 cremations in July.
Crematory - Rodney contacted the Industrial Engineering Company
located in Florida regarding a replacement floor for the Power
Pack II Retort. They would provide a ceramic floor that would
last longer than the existing one at a cost of $5, 600 . An
18 month service contract would cost $795 for each of the two
retorts and includes overhauling and maintenance. This would be
in our 1998 Budget.
The Toyota pickup will go to auction. We are presently using a
truck from the Waste Water Department and considering buying it.
The Highway Department has surveyed the job of paving one new
road and replacement of four road tiles. We are awaiting a cost .
estimate.
Darleen Dougher is looking for bids for a replacement tractor
EXCEL HUSTLER.
There was a self-inflicted shooting at Pine View._Cemetery on
Monday, August 4th. The State Police, Sheriff's Department and
the Rescue Squad handled the situation.
A general discussion regarding a Community Mausoleum was held.
Benjamin Lee, a Boy Scout from Troop 13, Queensbury, is
interested in a project of restoring Harrisena Community Cemetery
to earn his Eagle Scout Badge.
There was a discussion and review of applicants for the vacancy
on the Cemetery Commission Board and it was decided that Dr.
George Wiswall was a likely candidate for this position.
