11-12-1997 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION
November 12, 1997 9 a.m.
PRESENT: Superintendent Rodney Mosher
Commissioners: George Wiswall, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins
Councilmen: Ted Turner
There were 48 cremations in October.
Rick Missita from the Highway Department came to Pine View and
measured for the blacktop road on the new piece and the 5 1/2 feet
that needs replacement, however, there has been no response nor action
on this project.
There is one parcel of land which needs to be brought to a final
grade. All the top soil and mulch has been moved but we will need a
screen from the Highway Department in the spring.
The Town has asked the Commission to consider applying some of our
perputal care interest to the building fund if needed. Building
construction is in progress.
Water from the pond will not be drained this winter and a large
warning sign to stay off the thin ice will be posted.
Water lines to the cemetery have been drained for the winter.
The work at Quaker Cemetery is complete.
Gary Grant is not back to work yet.
A gentleman, who is a mason, would like permission to erect his own
mausoleum out of white brick. Be would be required to meet all the
cemetery codes and regulations including insurance coverage.
A family has approached Rodney about having a four-grave lot in Pine
View. There are no lots vacant next to the two that they presently
own and would like to convey the two lots back to the cemetery and in
consideration purchase the four-grave lot.
