04-08-1998 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION
April 8, 1998 - 9 a.m.
PRESENT: Superintendent Rodney Mosher
Commissioners: George Wiswall, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins
Councilman Ted Turner
Town Controller: Henry Hess
There were 51 cremations in March.
Three concerned lot owners at Pine View attended our meeting to discuss the rules and
regulations relating to the lots. They requested that they be more strictly enforced with respect to
artificial flowers, statues, signs, balloons, etc. The Superintendent and the Commission are all in
agreement that this is a necessary step and a Public Notice will be published in the Post Star in
the near future.
Henry Hess updated us on the financial status of the new addition. Bob Edwards gave him a
check for$12,000 on the $22,440 and the balance will be paid when the project is completed.
The old section will be tiled and used as a lunchroom.
All the winter graves have been staked out and the cemetery has been cleaned of winter refuse.
The Northway Plaza Association is interested in making an agreement on the property that
separates Pine View Cemetery from the plaza itself leaving a large buffer area that would obscure
the view. The Commission is willing to sell this parcel of land as it is not deemed usable for
burials.
