10-07-1998 Queensbury Cemetery Commission October 7, 1998 Present: Superintendent Rodney Mosher Commissioners: George Wiswall, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins There were 50 cremations in September. Some of the tiles in the office were replaced and there are extra tiles for future repairs. Bob Edwards spoke with Mark Levack re Northway Plaza and asked him to get back to us on a possible amount we can agree to. The Commission is placing an interment charge on small mausoleums. It will be $100 weekdays and $150 for Saturdays. A large limb fell off a hemlock tree and knocked over several stones. The limb was cut up and removed and the stones were reset. No damage was done to the stones. Abenaki opened in September. The base is down and ready for blacktop. Ed Matraw has been on vacation for two weeks and Gary Grant has been running the crematorium very effeciently. Marilyn vanDusen reported that the fences around Quaker Cemetery would be erected this fall. Rodney's cemetery car is permanently out of commission. It is not worth fixing. Rod is presently using a loaner car from the Water Department. Pinwheels are being removed again. Keith Harris has acquired a parcel of ground adjoining Seeley Cemetery and after saving a parcel for family and friends would like to donate the remainder to the Cemetery Commission.
