10-06-1999 • Queensbury Cemetery Commission October 6. 1999 - 9 a.m. PRESENT: Superintendent: Rodney Mosher Commissioners: George Wiswall, Bob Edwards, Terry Higgins There were 49 cremations in September. On September 2, at approximately 3 a.m. a gentleman was driving through.Pine View and failed to negoitate a turn. His car went off the road into a grassy area which was torn up. There were no injuries. He returned the following day and repaired the damage to the grass. Hurricane Floyd blew down approximatly 40 trees. There was no damage to monuments. Jim Coughlin loaned his wood chipper to dispose of the debris. Fall cleanup has begun. A check for$400 was sent to Mrs. Elizabeth Meincke, daughter of the deceased Mrs. Nora Mary Sowrav in payment for a lot that was sold back to the Cemetery Commission in 1993. All foundations are poured for this year. The water will be turned off in the near future. Marilyn Van Dyke had reported to Rodney that the fence at Quaker Cemetery was to be installed on September 27th and 28th. It still has not and Ms. VanDvke is checking into this matter. Rod attended the Budget Meeting on Oct. 5th. We will be getting a new uniloader and the Fleet, which is owned by the Town of Queensbury, will lease us a dump truck. Rod is exploring the feasibility of erecting Columbarium crypts for cremains. Ed Matraw is having his other hip replaced on Oct. 19th. Thomas and Margaret Nidds will be selling back a two-grave lot, 29-B in Hudson 41, due to a change in _plans. They are going to the new National Cemetery. A request for a resolution is being sent to the Town Board to issue them a check for $467. The ownership of the southern side of Seelye Cemetery is in question and is being traced.
