01-05-2000 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION

There were 50 cremations in December making a total of 605 for the year 1999. There were 570
cremations in 1998. There are two bodies in the Vault.
The fence at Quaker Cemetery has been installed and the Town Board adopted Resolution
No.439.99 expressing the Town of Queensbury's appreciation to the Berkshire Acquisition Corp.
for ensuring preservation of an important piece of Town history.
The area funeral homes have been notified of the price increase of adult cremations.
Most of the downed trees at Pine View have been cut up and removed.
Ed Matraw is recovering well from his hip operation and may be back in another week.
Dr. Wiswall received a copy of a letter from Michael Muller, attorney for Lee Memorials, stating
that there is no trust fund for perpetual care for Seeley Cemetery and Mr. Lee is prepared to
proceed with the process of deeding the property to the Queensbury Cemetery Commission. The
Commission will respond with a request all information relating to the lots, deeds and maps.
The Commission will request a Resolution from the Town Board to reimburse Wilma F. Dowen
for a two-lot grave, No 9-F in Horicon which she is selling back. They paid $700 and minus the
Perpetual Maintenance they are entitled to $467.
Rcidcey will be hospitalized on January 19th. He expects to be recuperating for at least two
:moths and Mike Lopez, Working Forman, will be overseeing the daily operations of the
' tery.
