FIRST REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF QUEENSBURY
CEMETARY COMMISSION.
First regular monthly meeting of Cemetary Commission
called to order at 7 :45 P.M. by Chairman Joseph F. Regan..
All Commissioners present.
Minutes of the Organization meeting held on May 5, 1948 read
by the Secretary. Motion made, seconded and carried to adopt
the minutes as read and amended.
Treasurer, Frank Cowles gave report on bonding of Commiss-
ioners as to cost, length of term, etc. Treasurer is to contact
County Attorney before any definite action is taken to purchase
bond.
Final draft of Deed and rules for Pine View Cemetary
lots read and checked by all members of the board. Above
deed and rules accepted by the board and the secretary is
directed to have 400 copies printed for Pine View Cemetary
and an additional 100 copies printed with the name of the
cemetary left out, so that it may be used for other
cemeteries which may come into the jurisdiction of the
Cemetary Commission in the future.
Need for some type of receipt book was discussed and
Secretary is requested to make inquiries about suitable
receipt bood for use of Superintendent of Pine View Cemetary
as well as the Commissioners.
Motion made, seconded and carried that a Petty Cash
fund of $25.00 be set up for use of Supt. of Pine View Cemetary
in purchasing small incidental items necessary for use in
the cemetery.
Motion made, seconded and carried that the Superintendent
be authorized to purchase a set of artificial grass for
grave and mound cover for an amount not to exceed $100.00.
Upon motion and vote, Glens Falls National Bank & Trust
Company is ,designated as depository for all funds of the Town
of Queensbury Cemetary Commission.
Motion made, seconded and carried that Frank Scoville
be officially appointed as Superintendent of the Pine View
Cemetary.
Discussion on percentage of purchase price of lots to be
set aside for perpetual care. The tentative amount of 25%
agreed upon.
Need for plowing and smoothing of Circle in front of the
vault in Cemetary discussed, and Secretary agreed to take charge
of project and have it done before Memorial day.
