REGULAR MEETING
June 13 , 1962, 4:45 P.M.
All Commissioners & Frank Scoville present.
Discussion held relative to the Austin Cemetery or
burial ploy on the Rockwell Road.
Discussion on Timms property acquisition was continued.
Motion duly made, seconded and carried that we recommend to
the Town Board that the Town purchase 9.969 Acres of Timms
property as shown on a map made from a survey by Town Surveyor,
John Van Dusen. Purchase priceof $6, 500 was submitted by Mr. Timms.
Supt. Scoville reported that many papers are bloying
onto the cemetery property from the new shopping_ center.
Sec. is to call Town Police Chief, LeRoy Phillips asking him
to check into the matter.
Discussion took place relative to the enforcement of
the rule against artificial floral pieces being placed in
Pine View Cemetery. The Glens Falls Cemetery and many other
cemeteries have banned such pieces. The reason being that the
artificial pieces are wire filled, and many times they stay
on graves for a prolonged period of time , and eventually get
caught in the mowers , damaging them. Final decision is to
be made at the next meeting of the Commission.
