Craig Brown, Zoning Administrator

Queensbury,NY 12804-5902 FEB 2 4 21114 'J
Dear Craig,
In response to your letter dated February 7, 2014 for the above referenced project,
The Stormwater Management Permit application has been revised per the following:
1. The Stormwater Management Permit application needs revision as
follows:
• Clarification that this is a Minor Project application
Circled Minor Project application.
• Clarification as to the project contractor, currently ABD will be
installer?
Revised Contractor to be determined.
• Section, Block and Lot number needed(shown on site plan)
Added 252-1-86
• Subdivision name to be added(shown on site plan)
Although not a Subdivision, the name of prior Subdivision as
been added to the Application.
• Volume to be corrected
Revised to 1,349±CF.
2. Pursuant to 147-11,please update the site plan to include impervious
surfaces, water bodies, septic systems, wells and stormwater control
devices on the site and within 100 feet of the site. If any of these resources
do not exist onsite or within 100'of the site, please state this on the plans.
Note has been added to the plans.
3. Chapter 147-11, I, (2),(e)specifies that the bottom of any infiltration
device must be a minimum of two feet above seasonal high groundwater
and bedrock. Please provide deep hole test pit data to demonstrate
compliance with this standard for infiltration devices proposed to service
the new impervious areas.
Storm calculations assumed conservative perc rate of 1-inch in 20
minutes and that infiltration volumes provided 2-feet minimum to
bedrock. Soil data has been added to the plan per the Mitchell
Subdivision Plat.
4. Chapter 147-11, I, (2), (e) requires that all stormwater from newly created
impervious areas which would otherwise run off the parcel be directed to
an infiltration device. In addition, infiltration devices must be sized to
provide 1.5 gallons of stormwater for each square foot of impervious area
tributary to a device. It is unclear from the site plan provided how each
area of impervious will be conveyed to a specific infiltration device, and
how each of these devises is sized accordingly to the respective tributary
area. Please update the site plan as necessary to depict stormwater
drainage paths, and provide construction details and calculations
necessary to demonstrate that each device is sized in accordance with the
minor stormwater project volume criteria.
All impervious areas will drain to the infiltration device. Drainage
arrows and infiltration device details have been provided on the plans
(see pea gravel diaphragm detail). Also see infiltration device
calculations attached.
5. The Application for Minor Stormwater Management Permit submitted
indicates stormwater volume control will be satisfied using a 1 foot by 1
foot "pea gravel diaphragm"of unspecified length with a storage capacity
of"275 cf"
a Please note, this application proposes 6662 ft of
impervious area, which requires 993 gallons or 1335 ft of
storage. Please update the plans as necessary to meet the
minimum volume control requirements.
Length of pea gravel diaphragm has been added to
the plans and calculations are attached.
Approximately 1,349 cubic feet of storage is provided.
b The site plan does not reflect the location or size of the
"pea gravel diaphragm. "Please update the site plan as
necessary to clarify the location, size and orientation of
this device.
Pea gravel diaphragm has been labeled in many
locations for clarity.
c For clarity during construction and to substantiate
volume control potential,please provide stormwater
construction details for all stormwater control devices
proposed to receive stormwater from new impervious
areas.
The pea gravel diaphragm detail has been revised for
clarity.
ENGINEERS
SURVEYORS •
6. Chapter 147-11, I, (2), (c) requires that infiltration devices servicing areas
subject to vehicle traffic be located at least 100'from water wells. The
current site plan suggests that stormwater from the proposed driveway
will be infiltration within 100'of the onsite water well. Please update the
plan as necessary.
The onsite water well is 100-feet from the pea gravel diaphragm and is
noted on the site plan.
7. Please update the site plan with a construction sequence/schedule.
This has been added to the plan.
8. The site plan provides notes pertaining to maintenance of erosion and
sediment control measures. Please update the site plan with maintenance
requirements necessary to ensure proper functioning of all stormwater
controls.
This has been added to the plan.
Enclosed are two (2) copies of the revised Site Plan (Rev#2-2/18/14).
Should you have any questions or need anything further, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Very truly
