Mr. Solomon wished Mr. Demboski well. Mr. Barber noted that the landfill has improved in quality and he personally commended Carl Garb and Bill Hughes. The Land-fill has extended its hours to 4:00 P.M. instead of 3:00 P.M. Closed on Sundays until further notice. Solomon opened the meeting at 1:15 P.M. with a salute to the flag. Supervisor Gerald B. Solomon greeted the following visitors: The families of the Town of Queensbury Office Employees. First on the Agenda, Mr. Solomon submitted a letter to the Town Board. December 29, 1972 Queensbury Town Board Gentlemen, Fellow Members and Friends, As you, all know, I was elected to the New York State Assembly in the last general election to take office on January 3, 1973. Although my present term as Queensbury Town Supervisor does not expire until Dec. 31 , 1973 and although the positions of Town Supervisor and Member of Assembly are compatible, I sineeerely feel that it is in the best interest of both the people of the Town of Queensbury and the people, of the 110th Assembly District that I resign my position as Town Supervisor. I do so with very mixed emotions, for although the honor of serving in the State Assembly is indeed a great privilege, I love the Town of Queensbury and the five years I have spent as its Town Supervisor are, without a doubt, the most enjoyable years mf my life. I sincerely believe that the new Town Supervisor and new Board will do a fine job and will carry on the traditional philosophy of good, sound fiscal government. I would also like to thank the present Town Board, Town employees and all of the people of Queensbury for their help in assisting me in my 170 job over the last five years. Mr. Little-I would like to comment that there are a number of matters now in progress being handled very capably by Mr. Katz, and as to those matters it would be my wish that Mr. Katz be retained as Council to me, to assist in the continuance of those matters to a sucessful conclusion.
