RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF BID FOR PURCHASE OF 2017

WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 174,2017, the Queensbury Town Board authorized the
Town's Purchasing Agent to advertise for bids for the purchase of a 2017 or newer Ford Transit Van
for use by the Town's Building and Grounds Department, and
WHEREAS, on July l lt'', the Purchasing Agent duly received and opened all bids received
by the Town for the Van, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent and Facilities Manager have recommended that the
Town Board award the bid to the only and therefore lowest, responsible bidder, Van Bortel Ford,
for the amount not to exceed $28,923, and
WHEREAS, upon delivery of such new van, the Facilities Manager has further requested
authorization to transfer the Department of Building and Grounds' current cargo van(Asset 48957) to
the Cemetery Department, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize such purchase, with funding to be from
Capital Reserve 464, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with New York State General Municipal Law §6(c), the Town
Board is authorized to withdraw and expend funds from Capital Reserve 464 subject to permissive
referendum,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby accepts and awards the bid for the
purchase of a 2017 Transit Ford 250 Van from the only and therefore lowest, responsible bidder,
Van Bortel Ford, for an amount not to exceed $28,923 to be paid from Vehicles Account No.: 001-
1620-2020, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Budget Officer to take all
actions necessary to effectuate a transfer from Reserve No.: 64 in the amount of$28,923 to Vehicles
Account No.: 001-1620-2020, amend the 2017 Town Budget, make any adjustments, budget
amendments, transfers or prepare any documentation necessary to effectuate payment, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that upon delivery of such new van, the Town Board further authorizes and
directs the transfer of the Department of Building and Grounds' current cargo van(Asset 48957)to the
Cemetery Department, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor,
Facilities Manager, Cemetery Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to take such other and further
action as may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that this Resolution is subject to a permissive referendum in accordance with the
provisions of Town Law Article 7 and the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Clerk
to publish and post such notices and take such other actions as may be required by law.

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury's Facilities Manager wishes to advertise for bids for
the purchase of a 2017 or newer Ford Transit Van to replace a current cargo van in the Building and
Grounds Department as will be described in bid documents/specifications to be prepared by the
Facilities Manager and/or Town Purchasing Agent, and
WHEREAS, General Municipal Law §103 requires that the Town advertise for bids and
award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder meeting New York State statutory requirements and
the requirements set forth in the Town's bidding documents,
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town
Purchasing Agent to publish an advertisement for bids in the official newspaper for the Town of
Queensbury for the purchase of a 2017 or newer Ford Transit Van for the Building and Grounds
Department, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Purchasing Agent to
open, read aloud and record all bids received and present the bids to the next regular or special
Town Board meeting.
