RESOLUTION URGING PASSAGE OF AMENDMENT No. 1 THE SEWAGE DEBT AMENDMENT
RESOLUTION NO. 308 Introduced by Mr.John Austin who moved its adoption
seconded by Mr. Gordon Streeter:
WHEREAS Amendment No. 1, The Sewage Debt Amendment will appear on the
Statewide ballot on Tuesday, November 6, and
WHEREAS, it is essential to fiscal and environmental planning for the
Town of Queensbury that the sewer debt exclusion be extended pursuant to
said amendment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby expresses
its support of said Amendment No. 1 and urges voters of the Town to vote ,
"Yes" on said Amendment in the General Election.

Ayes : Mr. Olson, Mr. Barb-er, Mr.. Robillard, Mr. Streeter, Mr. Austin

Meeting Opened to the Public :
Mr. Wolsey-urged the board to look closely at any sewage project that may
be required in the town.
Carl Garb-noted that many roads in the Town of Queensbury were being re-
surfaced 7 Palmer Drive, Dixon Court, Belle Mt. Road . . .
Councilman Barber - question Cronin Road
Carl Garb-the Roads will be dose as to priority. . . the worst roads first etc .
Councilman Olson: question Meadow Brook Road
Carl Garb: some of that work will be farmed out as far as the blasting
it will be a winter project. . .
Daniel Sweet-asked the Board to review a problem in his neighborhood
as far as out side facilities. . .

Public Hearing on Preliminary Budget -Notice of Publication was
shown .
Supervisor Austin: gave a lengthy speech unveiling the proposed
preliminary budget

Supervisor Austin noted a . 95 cent reduction in the pneral town-wide
tax rate. . . . . increase in funding to the fire protection district,
water district and general town services and ar;reduction in the town
tax rate in the lighting district. . .
During the assessment of the budget some questions were asked. . .
Mrs. James Carlaw. . suggested that the Planning Board and the Zoning Board
of Appeals buy some type of equipment to show plans etc. to the public
during their meetings . . .
Mr. Ken Parker of the Queensbury Central Fire Company requested a meetmTcg
with the Town Board to discuss funding for the Fire Company. . .
Supervisor Austin set the meeting for November 15, at 8 :30 P .M.
Mr. Krebs asked the Board next year to publish both the 1974-75
figures for purposed of comparison. . .
Mrs. James Carlaw. .praised the Board for the increase in the Library
funding but urged the board to consider increasing the funding more. . .
noting"Crandall Library is an important part of our lives"
Robert LaPann. .urged the board to investigate into the possibility of
a joint recreation program with the City of Glens Falls . . .
urged the Board to not put up any more traffic lights . . . conserve energy
Councilman Streeter suggested allowing the continuation of placement of
street lights but not turn the lights on. . .
Mr. Ted Turner. . suggested that the elections inspectors should be
given more money. . .
Glen Gregory.-. .announced to the Board that the four fire companies of
the Town, West Glens Falls, North Queensbury, Bay Ridge, South Queensbury
will be negotiating with the town as a unit. . .
Daniel Sweet:asked the Board for increase for Vetrans and Celebrations
Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law the hearing was adjourned
until November 15, 1973. . .

RESOLUTION NO. 309, Introduced by Mr. Harold Robillard who moved

WHEREAS, Superintendent of Highways , Carl A. Garb has recommended
to this Town Board that certain pieces of obsolete equipment be
offered for sale to the highest bidder, and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Highways has also recommended that
the equipment be sold to the highest bidder, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Twon Clerk be and he---is hereby authorized and
directed to cause to be published once in the official newspapers,
in the following form:

Supervisor Austin: There have been several developments *ithe.:Tespett
to the situation of Warren Lane a private road which leads easterly from
Burch Road. I would like to at this time review the situationdl think
there has been lots of commentszmgde about the ownership and about the
town' s roll in this, arld this is strictly speaking as the Town Supervisor
and not fiert.the Town Board this is my own anal*aii- of the situation.
I served on the Town Board not last year but the preceeding_, year when some
permits were first presented from Warren Lane and I think i am correct
when I say that Una Burch the developer at that time indicated at that time
that the road was going to be brought to grade and the first four or five
permits that were presented fou mobile home locations on that'
